- If this does not work, you will need to do an Archive & Install of the OS.
- If running the Apple combo updater and installing (then updating) Microsoft Office after using "Remove Office", does not work, then the user should do an Archive & Install of the OS.

The Combo updates contain all incremental updates and will update files that could have become corrupted. It won't allow me to open any letters or written information I have made. This is especially important if you are sharing your Entourage or Outlook Identity. Not sure what caused it, but it started on my last MacBook Pro. Now I am thinking: Maybe a reboot was all that was needed in my case which did not necessarily require rebuilding the database.

Mountain Lion: OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.5 (Combo) Oct 3, 2013- 831.81 MB Lion: OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 Client Combo. Your cache administrator is webmaster. Took about 15 minutes to rebuild the database, then started perfectly, and no issues since. I followed the instructions for rebuilding the Database Utility, but I got the message "Your database could not be rebuilt. [-18000]" What next???
