After Windows XP was installed I no longer had sound working on my computer--which sucks!! Sounds like you need to update your sound card driver. It might not be the Sound Card driver which is the problem, it could be a simple Hardware conflict. Thanks so much! I am pretty sure this is the newest driver, not positive though)In the properties under device manager it show the error I listed in the title and it says  PCI BUS I am getting no sound except for the annoying buzzing when I move my mouse. This took me a week to resolve so best of luck.
