  1. I uninstalled Internet Explorer 7 and installed FireFox as my browser and everything now works great!

You can try to uninstall/reinstall it. Sometimes u need to upgrade for newest version of it, sometimes to remove it totally, sometimes just enable it and put it on your browser's tab.
